Order Statuses Explained

What each order status means and when to move an order to the next stage.

Updated 2026-06-01

Cresivox uses seven order statuses to track the full lifecycle of a sale.

Status definitions

  • Pending – order placed; payment not yet confirmed. Common for COD and bank transfer orders.
  • Confirmed – payment verified, order acknowledged. Inventory is deducted at this point.
  • Out for Delivery – dispatched and with the delivery partner.
  • Delivered – customer has received the order.
  • Returned – customer returned the item. Update stock manually after a return.
  • Canceled – order canceled. Initiate a refund separately if payment was collected.
  • Refunded – refund has been processed (managed via Refund Requests).
ℹ️COD orders: Cash on Delivery orders start as Pending. Move to Confirmed once the delivery agent collects cash and reports back. For prepaid orders, the gateway auto-confirms payment and the status jumps to Confirmed immediately.
⚠️Returned items and stock: Returning an order to Returned status does NOT automatically re-add inventory. Go to the product and manually increase stock after inspecting the returned item.
